Lighting

The main topic of this module number 10 are lighting sources and characteristics. The following subjects will be analyzed:

• Lighting facts.
• Wattage: traditional bulbs, fluorescent lamp standards, compact fluorescent lamp, next generation fluorescent lamp, led light.
• Requirements for illumination: light output/lumens, glare, colour rendering.
• Evaluation costs for lighting: identify lamps and bulbs, identify annual operating hours, annual operating costs of the lighting system and calculate payback for new system.
• Making energy savigs: use of a daylight, switch it off, reduce lighting evels, mantainence and control systems: motion control, daylight control, time clock, remote control.
